Commercial retail store lighting

The lighting applications of commercial retail stores are diverse, and there are also many different sales product forms in stores, which need to comprehensively consider many key points such as attracting customers, lighting colors, displaying goods and creating an atmosphere. The lighting color of the store should match the brand image. Store lighting can be composed of three main parts: window lighting, environmental basic lighting and key display lighting.

Window lighting: Window is the key to attracting customers. Key lighting is used to highlight the display of the goods. By adjusting the angle and brightness of the lamps, the window products form a key lighting effect, making the goods more attractive visually. In terms of lighting design and layout, spotlights can be used to illuminate goods from multiple angles, such as for the window of displaying clothing, lighting from the top, side and bottom to show the texture and details of clothing; at the same time, attention should be paid to avoid glare and reflection, which affects the display effect.

Overall brightness: To ensure the brightness of the store, you can clearly see the goods and the layout of the store.

Generally, embedded lamps or track spotlights with a uniform distribution of wide angles are used as the basic lighting. Different types of stores have different requirements for overall brightness. For example, supermarkets are brighter, while fashion clothing stores will appropriately reduce the overall brightness to create a more atmospheric space.

Color temperature selection: Select the color temperature according to the style and product type of the store. Warm color temperature (2700K – 3500K) can create a warm and comfortable shopping atmosphere, suitable for stores selling household goods, clothing, etc.; cold color temperature (4000K – 5000K) gives people a bright and modern feeling, suitable for stores such as electronics and sports equipment.

Key lighting for commodity display

Key lighting: Use spotlights to focus on key commodities to highlight the key characteristics, details and selling points of commodities. For example, when displaying jewelry, use spotlights with narrow beam angles to focus the light on the luster and cutting surface of the jewelry, so that customers can clearly see its quality.

Lighting angle: A reasonable lighting angle can better display goods. For flat goods, such as books, paintings, clothing, etc., the light can be illuminated at a 45-degree angle above the top or diagonally. For three-dimensional goods, such as sculptures, furniture, handicrafts, etc., they need to be illuminated from multiple sides to show their three-dimensional sense and texture.
